Widefield M16 - Eagle Nebula

The majestic "Pillars of Creation" can easily be discerned here in this widefield view of the famous Eagle nebula. These pillars are an active site of star birth.

North America Nebula
This is an emission nebula considered to be 1500 light years away from Earth. As its name suggests, the nebula closely resembles the North American continent complete with the Gulf Coast.

The Whirlpool Galaxy - M51

This is an image of a "grand design" spiral galaxy roughly 23 million light years away. It is interacting with its neighbor galaxy known as NGC 5195. Towards the right of M51 are two smaller NGC galaxies.
